Why do my monkii bars look different from the videos and pictures?

As of fall 2020, the MB2 no longer will ship with the case/door anchor feature shown below. We have opted to leave the images in place for comparison, as many online videos still show that design. The MB2 will ship starting fall 2020 with a newly-designed door anchor and separate stuff-style pouch. Photos will be on our website when it is available to ship. 

A long time ago, the Elder monkii Society gathered atop the windswept mountains of Colorado. There, they presented their dilemma to the Oracle and the response was "You must redesign the monkii bars 2." 

After we designed the prototype that you see in our videos and photos, we sent them around the world to be tested by our very raddest monkiis. Their feedback is what drove most of our decisions to make the changes. The overwhelming response was to make the system easier to set up and take down, and to make it even more minimalist to travel and adventure with. The photos and explanations below explain what we changed. 

The new kit is 30% smaller (about the size of a Nalgene water bottle) and 20% lighter. At only 20 ounces, it is easy to carry anywhere you want to go. It's also a bit sleeker and sexier, isn't it?




The "ultralight" portion of the kit was made even more efficiency-friendly by doing away with the extra fabric piece and simplifying it to silicone bands.  




The foot straps were made to be stowable inside the bars for easier transportation



And the "triangle" portion of the straps was removed, allowing for a more seamless setup and no pain (at least not from chafing from the S buckle)
